STAFF BIOS
VETERINARIANS:
-
Dr. Carolyn Slavin-Semel, VMD, is the owner and senior doctor at Bryan Animal Hospital. A native of suburban Detroit, Dr. Slavin graduated from the University of Michigan in 1989. Then, on scholarship, she attended the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine, from which she graduated in 1993. During her 11 years practicing medicine at Bryan Animal Hospital, Dr. Slavin has developed a special interest in Oncology/Chemotherapy. She now resides in the Art Museum area of Philadelphia with her husband, two sons, their two dog Fudge and Poncho and four cats (Maxine, Trudy, Witty, and Nardi).
- Dr. Diane Horn, VMD, who worked at Bryan from 1992 to 2001, returns after a brief hiatus. She graduated from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1992. She is a New Jersey native who now resides in New Eygypt with her husband, Dave (also a veterinarian) and daughter, Rachel, and their sweet pitbull Demi. and two horses. Dr. Horn is an excellent surgeon and general practicioner.
- Dr. Lorraine de Jager, has been performing cardiac ultrasounds on our patients and is now going to be seeing patients on Tuesday evenings and select Saturdays. She is originally from South Africa and is currently residing in South Jersey. She will still be doing ultrasounds as needed for our patients.
RECEPTIONISTS:
- Brenda, has been with Bryan for over 20 years and is the head receptionist. She and her husband Gene have a son, Shawn, and two dogs, Spencer and Angel as well as many cats!
- Sandy, has been with us for over 5 years and is a valuable member of our reception team. Sandy has a husband Andy, two daughters and a son. She like most other staff members has lots of pets. Three dogs and multiple cats. When Sandy isn't receptioning she is performing in her band as a rhythm guitarist.
- Erin , has been working in the kennel and is now part of our reception staff. She has a little boy at home with a sweet labrador retriever that she rescued as well as cats.
TECHNICIANS:
- Sheri, our head technician has been with Bryan since 2002. She lives with her husband, two children, and many animals in Tabernacle. Sheri enjoys going to continuing education seminars and teaching our other technicians.
- Tracey, has been with Bryan for 15 years. She started out as a kennel technician and then managed the kennel for a few years. She is now a valuable member of our technician staff. She lives in Columbus with her husband and two children. She also happens to be our resident Giants fan!!!
KENNEL:
- Jessica, is the new kennel mangager at Bryan and will be working to make your cat of dog's stay as pleasant an experience as possible. She has been with us for almost 2 years and has been both a receptionist and a technician for Bryan.
- Rebecca, is a recent addition to Bryan Animal Hospital. She has a German Shepard name Digger and a Siberian Husky named Toby. When she's not at work she spends time drag racing, working on cars, wheeling and riding her quad.
